This was the question that Bill T. Ward, President of Ward Transport & Logistics in Altoona, asked himself after hearing about “Buy Here. Live Here. It wasn’t long after that he asked his staff to provide him with a list of all the checks that the company had written during the previous three months.
“I wanted to see what products and services that we had purchased from vendors outside our area that we could have been buying here,” Ward reported. “The results were rather eye-opening. I would strongly encourage all businesses to take a hard look at their purchasing choices. Our community and the well-being of our future generations could depend on it.”
